Nim Bahadur Magar elected NARA Chairman

Pokhara—Nim Bahadru Magar has been elected as the Chairman of Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA), an umbrella organization of Nepal’s rafting companies, in Kathmandu last day. Magar, who is the Managing Director of Paddle Nepal garnered 32 votes to defeat his only rival Ganga Nepal got 26 votes in an election held during the 29th Annual General Meeting of NARA in Kathmandu.

A total of 60 votes were cast however 72 agencies were eligible to take part in the voting process. Meanwhile, the AGM also elected Kamal Thakuri in vice chairman while Shiva Adhikari was elected in general secretary. Likewise, Bhisma Raj Thapalia in secretary, Shishir Khanal in treasurer and Rita Adhikari in joint treasurer are also the parts of the new executive body.

Raju Khadka, Bishunu Hari Silwal and Uddhav Kandel were elected in the executive member of the new committee. Newly elected Magar vowed that he would carry out his upcoming tasks to give NARA a new height in professional way. The 12 time Nepali National Kayak Champion and International Rafting Federation Instructor, Magar also said that he would deal the issue of new hydle projects in rafting running rivers and the issue of pollution in river side, with positive manners.
