Rs 4.038bl budget presented for PLMC

By Rup Narayan Dhakal: Pokhara—Pokhara Metropolitan City (PLMC) Office Mayor Man Bahadur GC has presented the budget of Rs 4.038 billion for upcoming fiscal 2074/075 in Pokhara on Thursday. GC also presented the policies and programs of PLMC for coming fiscal at an urban assembly held in a meeting hall of Urban Training Center.

The budget targets the tax collection of Rs 2.21 billion and will get the conditional and unconditional grant of Rs 1.82 billion from central government. Similarly, PLMC has allocated the budget of Rs 155 million to various funds, Rs 1.35 billion for infrastructure development, Rs 136.5 million environment conservation and disaster management, Rs 23 million for economic development. Likewise, Rs 308 million for administrative expenses, Rs 90 million for garbage management and Rs 350 million for ward offices also are the part of expenditure in the budget.

The budget has covered very ambitious plans to make Pokhara a smart city. Corruption free administration, employment generation, infrastructure development, prosperous Pokhara and full of social justice in the metropolitan city are also the plans that have been covered in policies. Construction of tunnel, flyovers, overhead bridges, PLMC official building also are confined in the policies.

Formulation of land use plan and feasibility study for metro rail and Pokhara Lumbini fast track also are the plans. Development of Annapurna trekking circuit as world’s best route, one bank one ward, establishment of Utility Service Authority, development of wire underground system, conservation of lakes are also the plans confined in the budget policies.
