RPP leaders inured in clashes with police

Kathmandu—Rastriya Prajatantra Party former Chairman Pashupati Samser JB Rana injured during a clash with police in Kathmandu today. He was leading a RPP rally that was organized to protest a decision made by Election Commission recently. Likewise, RPP central committee member and popular singer Komal Oli also was wounded during a clash. Her treatment is undergoing in Model Hospital now.

The demonstration was carried out as EC decided to remove the provision of Hindu nation and monarchy from the statute of RPP. Deputy Prime Minister and RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa including minister Dipak Bohara were also taking part in sit-in which was being held near the central office of EC now.

The recently held general convention of RPP had endorsed the provision of Nepal as Hindu nation with monarchy. RPP spokesperson Sushil Shrestha said that his party would move to court against the decision made by EC. Police lathicharged and used tear gas cells to control the rally as it clashed with police.

The rally was started from Shanti Batika. Thapa also took part in a sit-in organized at EC in Bahadur Bhawan and the party submitted a memorandum to EC to correct the recent decision against his party.
